VP Leather Sponsored Review

Hello fellow internet bloggers! Today's review is sponsored by VP Leather.  I was contacted through Instagram by VP Leather about reviewing their products.  They told me to pick out somethings that I liked and that they would send me one.  Gladly, I accepted and gave their website a look!  VP Leather does cater more to those who are in the kink community.  Even though this is the case, there are some lovely pieces that are amazing for those looking for something on the "edgy" side.  For this review, I will be calling the product a collar since this is how it is described on the website.  When I first looked on their website, I was on my phone.  To my surprise, the website was incredibly mobile friendly!  Once on my laptop, the website was still easy to navigate and look around without a problem.  Now onto the review!

Items in the shop are made out of leather and some with fur.  There are some vegan options for collars as well which hopefully will expand for other customers  The collar that VP Leather sent me is called the "Vicki" in pink.   Vicki is $18 but currently on sale for $13.  It also comes with a few color options such as pink, red, purple, and black.  For a closure, the collar has a
buckle with different holes punched out.  This is to ensure the comfort of the wearer.  Vicki can fit neck sizes starting at 12" all the way to 16" and has a width of 1/2".  The metal on the collar is nickel-plated so be aware if you have metal allergies.  Vicki is made out of soft Latigo leather that is dyed to the chose of color selected while shopping.  Details on the collar are simple but spunky.  In the center there is a heart shaped lock that does come with a key.  On either side of the lock there is a spike.  These metal pieces are silver which is a plus for me since that is my metal color of choice.
When I received my package, it arrived in a bubble mailer.  Within the mailer, plastic resealable bag with the Vicki inside.  Taking the collar out, you could defiantly tell it was leather by the smell.  Personally I don't mind the smell because it reminds me of family.  For those who may mind the smell, it can easily be aired out to help dull the smell.  The front facing side of the leather is smooth while the part that touches your neck is a bit on the rough side.  Some other products though are lined with fur for more comfort.  If I'm able to purchase a collar in the future, I'm defiantly interested in one of the lined collars such as the collar named "Kathleen".  With the metal detailing, you would think that the collar would feel heavy and become an issue through out the day.  For me, it wasn't that heavy and I had no problem wearing it through out the day.  The only complaint I have about it is that you can't get the extra length tucked into the other side of the buckle.  Such as you can with a belt buckle or an animal collar.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the product I received!  I've gotten many compliments on it.  This collar shows off my personality of cute with an edge.  Talking with the company was a breeze and pleasant.  The website is easy to navigate with a range of products.  My only complaint is that I wish they offered vegan options and maybe more colors and styles.  Maybe even a build your own item section?  I feel like adding some of these options will open them up to more customers.  They do have some vegan options though which is nice for those who want to test out their products!  For anyone who is interested click here to go to their website.  Have you checked out VP Leather or tested one of their products?  Let me know what you think if you have!

March 2017 Ipsy Subscription

Hello fellow internet bloggers!  Sorry about the delay on this monthly review.  I wanted to be able to
try everything out before writing this review.  For those who don't know Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription that costs about $10 each month.  With each month you receive a small makeup bag and 4-5 travel size samples.  Each month, there is a theme and with this theme that is showed off with the bag and products.  To get products you're interested in, you create a profile with what you're looking for.  Don't worry though, your able to re-customize your profile at any time!  Plus after a few weeks you're able to review the products you received so Ipsy knows how to put together your next month's bag.  Enough with the technicalities, let's get onto the review!

Since I didn't do a review for last month's Ipsy, we're going right for March's bag.  Out of all of the Ipsy bag designs I've seen, this has been my favorite one.  It is my favorite design because of the color combination and it has more room in it.  I love using Ipsy bags for when I travel to toss my makeup in.  Helps me limit what I need and are extremely convenient, March's lets me comfortably put all of the things I need in there without fearing for the zipper's life (and the zipper is rose gold so no way to I want it breaking on me).  The actual design of the bag is supposed to have it slightly folded over itself but I prefer it completely unfolded.  Plus for those that like the feel of fabric, this one feels so cool.  March's theme was Tres Joile which translates to very pretty/nice.  This hits spot on for the bag itself as well as it's contents.

The first item was Air Repair Skincare's complexion-boosting moisturizer.   Honestly, I don't have much to say about this.  To me, this product was meh.  Nothing to special or fancy for me so I wouldn't specifically seek it out once I run out of it.  On Ipsy's site, the description states that this is good for frequent flyers to help combat the dry skin people can get.  It states that it is good for any skin type and contains hyaluronic acid to help add moisture to one's skin without feeling greasy.  Honestly I didn't apply it to my face, I first tested it out on the back of my hand.  For the life of me I couldn't get past the feeling that it left on my hand.  To me it felt slightly like silicone based primer.  There isn't anything wrong with silicone based primer in my opinion but as a moisturizer, thats not what I'm looking for.  I will admit though the back of my hand (once getting past the silicone like feeling) was softer feeling than my other hand.

My second product was Beau Gachis tapered blending brush.  I was so stoked that I got a brush in my bag.  One of the first things that I selected to be in my Ipsy bags were brushes.  When it comes to buying brushes, I'm always on the fence so getting them in an Ipsy bag to try out is so helpful.  The bristles of the brush are incredibly soft and I haven't experienced any shedding either.  It does a wonderful job of picking up pigment and smoothly blending it out.  There are no complaints coming from me about this brush.  Honestly, I wouldn't even be mad if they sent me the same brush next month in my bag!

I received Dirty Little Secrets blush in "Kitty Pink" as my third product.  This is my new go to blush due to it's lovely soft color and texture.  The pictures online from Ipsy's site do not do this blush justice!  Online, it looks to be a brown/pinkish color which would look good for fall but not spring.  Thankfully, this color is a nice coral pink color that is on the lighter side.  It is perfect for a nice natural flush you may want with or without a full face of makeup.  It's texture isn't chalky but not too creamy.  For me, this is the perfect blush texture.  I'm able to pick up just the amount of pigment that I want without getting frustrated.  There is a little bit of fall out when you swipe your brush against the surface but I use that fall out for my other cheek.  When I do apply the blush, I only swipe the pan once with a blush brush and apply like any other powder blush.  That one swipe gives me just the right amount of pigment for a natural flush that I want.

The fourth product is Tarte's tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in "Rose".  I was a bit nervous about
this because I'm very picky about my liquid lippies.  They can't be too dry or sticky, need to have excellent staying power, easy application, and not difficult to take off when I want it off.  Overall, I like this lip product.  When I first tried it out on my lips, I noticed that it did make my lips feel dry more around the edges of my lips.  Not as bad as others that I've tried which felt like my lips were in a desert.  The staying power was impressive I will say.  It survived eating two college student meals, two drinks (one with straw and one without a straw), kissing my boyfriend, and me talking quite a bit.  Applying was simple enough, I was able to control where the liquid pigment went without it trying to runaway.  The applicator is a doe foot that had good precision around the edges.  At the end of the night, I still had quite a bit of product left on my lips.  Taking the product off with a generic brand makeup wipe was easier than other liquid lippies I've taken off.  I didn't need to scub away at my lips leaving them raw.  Tarte's tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in "Rose" is a good natural lip color and isn't too shabby on the lips!

Our final product is ModelCo's eye define retractable crayon liner in "Black".  Ipsy listened to my review that I gave on their site which is nice.  Last month (February) I received a pencil eyeliner.  I don't like pencil liners, we just don't mix for some reason.  In the review I stated this and this month I received a retractable liner!  There really isn't much to say about this liner in my opinion.  It's your typical black retractable liner.  For me it doesn't hold up well on my water line but I haven't found any liner that holds up.  This liner does hold up though on my lash line which impressed me since I haven't found one that held up before this one.  Texture and color wise, it has a creamy consistency with nice color pay off.  I wouldn't mind if I got a similar liner in future bags once this one runs out.

In the end, I'm overall happy with March's Ipsy bag.  There was only one product I didn't care for and the other products are items that I find myself reaching for lately.  That moisturizer was just a dud for me but that doesn't mean that other people feel the same about it.  I'm sure it is popular for those living in extreme dry environments or frequent flyers.  I do want to see what other moisturizers I get though since I still haven't found the "perfect" one yet.  I can see myself going out of my way for the blush and brush in purchasing more.  For the lippy, it would depend on how much money I have around to spend on makeup.  I wouldn't object though to get this product again in the future or if someone gave it to me.

Did you guys receive March's bag?  If so, what did you get and think about it?  I hope you all enjoyed this (late) review!  Don't hesitate to email or comment with any questions or comments you may have.
