Dolls Kill x SugarThrillz Laly Platform Shoes

Hello fellow internet bloggers, I'm back from the dead!  I apologize for being MIA so long.  There were many factors that went into it but who wants to hear of excuses when you can read about shoes!  Today's review is over SugarThrillz Laly platform shoes.  I purchased these shoes a while ago to give myself more than enough time to know how these shoes can hold up.  Did they hold up to my shenanigans?  Keep on reading to find out but first, let's talk the basics.

I first found these shoes through Dollzkill when SugarThrillz was originally known as SugarBaby.  All of SugarThrillz items are super cute and mainly fits into pastel grunge aesthetics.  When I was able to snag these shoes, they were thankfully on sale.  Don't get me wrong,  I understand why their brand is on the pricier side.  Sadly though I'm a college student who can't afford too many high-end items.  If I'm remembering correctly, I paid a little over $30 for the shoes and was able to get free shipping on my order.  Thankfully they had a size 8 left so I was able to snag them.  Be aware that SugarThrillz shoes tend to be on the bigger sizes (from what I've noticed).  I'm usually a size 8.5 and a size 9 in their shoes are too big for my feet.  Once ordered, shipping was prompt and my new babies arrived on time!

If any of you have ordered from Dollzkill before, you know that their packages usually come in a black plastic bag that has white graffiti on it matching the style of their online store.  My package was quite heavy due to the style of the shoes but the weight didn't do that much damage to the packaging.  Tearing away the outer packaging like a kid on Christmas day, I was greeted by the most adorable shade of pink and SugarThrillz old logo 'SugarBaby'.  To this day I still have that box saved because I can't bare to toss it out.  Inside of the box, each shoe was in its own little bag to keep them from scuffing the other up.  Also within the box was a pair of ribbon laces to switch out the cord laces.  I prefer the ribbon to the cord laces so I swapped them out right away.

As I said previously, these shoes have some weight to them.  At first, this can be really intimidating to those who don't do well with heels.  For me though, I love shoes that definitely stand out amongst the rest.  The weight of the heels did take some time getting used to but didn't bother me that much.  Personally, I like how the weight feels on my legs.  With the tall platform, I thought I was going to have a difficult time learning to run around but it was actually easier than wearing a pair of normal heels.  There is no foreseeable way you can break a heel with these babies.  A nice thing is is that the heel is only slightly elevated compared to the rest of the foot.  This means that you can wear them for a longer amount of time and still be comfortable.  I would recommend though getting a pair of gel insoles.  Within the shoe, there isn't much padding to support your arch which is where most of my foot pain is after a long day of wearing these.

The shoes are made of a faux leather and a rubber material.  Do be careful when walking or crossing your legs with these bad boys.  Since they are on the heavy side, you can easily scuff up the shoes on each other.    Mine have become slightly scuffed so I'll have to tidy them up.  Another thing to keep an eye on is how you walk in them.  With their weight, again, you may feel like dragging your heels a bit but do your best not to!  I know it is hard because I want to all the time.  Even when not dragging your heels, you'll be scrapping the bottom of the heels some with natural wear but also due to the added weight of the heels.

Even with these issues, these are my go-to 'extra' shoes.  They're so easy to style as their black and white.  If I'm remembering correctly, I get more compliments on these shoes than any other shoe that I own.  I don't know if Dollskill and/or SugarThrillz will be bringing these shoes back but if they do, definitely snag a pair!  These weren't my first choice of shoes but I'm so glad I ended up getting them as they've become my favorite pair of shoes.  They've been able to hold up in the rain, heat, mud, and salt of Maine weather.  These shoes are reliable, cute, and intimidating so if that's what you need in a shoe, you've found the right pair for you!

Do you own any thing from SugarThrillz?  I would definatly love to own more than just these pair of shoes.  They have so many cute things I wanna throw my money at them for!

Survive until next time my fellow internet bloggers!
